Since we are on the topic of FM05/06, let me put up some personal recommendations for players. I am sure there could be better ones... but these are my own recommendations based on my games in EPL.
GK :
Leo Franco, Ath Madrid, a fantastic goalkeeper with incredible consistency. However, beware of English games, give him a season to get used to English pace.
Chris Kirkland, Liverpool, good to play in the English games, can sometimes win games single-handedly.
Babacan Volkan, Fenerbance, a good option for 2nd or 3rd choice keeper. Will not be easily unhappy, and will perform when called upon. Main advantage is that he is young and will be ready in time.
Igor Akinfeev, CSKA Moscow, similar to Volkan, young and good.
Defenders:
John Arne Riise, DL, Liverpool, almost impossible to sign away from Pool, unless one thing, Liverpool wins the CL again. He would strangely declare that he needs a new challenge and refuse to sign a new contract.
Fabio Grosso, DL/ML, Palermo, could be costly, but very effective both at DL and ML. When in midfield, can provide a number of assist to strikers. Consistent as well.
Billy Jones, DL/C/R, Crewe, Not someone to shout abt, but definitely a good player to plug holes when he can play anywhere across the back four.
Ashley Cole, DL/ML, Arsenal, Unless you have loads of money and Ashley Cole is unhappy, if not, dun tink abt it.
Patrice Evra, DL, ML, Monaco, no need for intro. Good at DL and ML, similar to Grosso.
Para, DR, Sao Paulo, Still young at the start of the game, so give him a small number of games and increase slowly. Will be ready by 3rd season for 1st-team.
Anthony Vandan Borre, DC/R, Anderlecht, Good at DR and DC, similarly to Para, need abt 2 seasons to be ready for 1st-team regular action. This kid grows very fast and good.
Carlos Magno, DR/MR, Vitora, Fantastic player, can be applied at DR and MR. Also a player to plug holes and will provide u with lots of runs and assist.
Jamie Carragher, DC, Liverpool. Abit hard to buy as he is superbly loyal
Pablo, DC, At Madrid, Strangely, if u look at his stats, he is nothing to shout about. However, his strong stats are all for defence. Consistent as well.
Vincent Kompany, DC, Anderlecht, Really good, but alittle too aggressive at times. May give u red cards, but remember to give only warnings for the cards and not fine, if not, he will be unhappy. He will learn to curb the aggression.
Steven Taylor, DC, Newcastle, Good if u r lacking of English players to register for European matches. Will perform consistently once he is past 21. However, need exposure when playing for european games.
Midfielders:
Tomas Sivok, DM, Sparta Pague, solid for teams who needs a consistent DM. Not too many assist to provide, but will protect your defence. May give u some goals once in a while.
Miguel, ML/C/R, Hertha, Young and good. Good to apply on wingers. Crosses and assist. Can play for long due to the age.
Salomon Kalou, ML/C/R, Feyno, Young and good also. This guy strangely plays better at Left wing than right.
Ibon Gutierrez, DM, At Madrid, consistent and creative. May even provide u with some goals.
Valeri Bojinov, ST/MR, Fiorentina, A must buy in the first season, if u wan a utility midfield cum striker kind of player.
Freddy Adu, ML, ST, DC united, if u buy him, u MUST play him for him to develop. Will become pretty fantastic after abt 3/4 seasons.
Daniel Carvalho, ML/C, CSKA Moscow, a less-known midfielder, will perform well in the English game.
Besides these, the regular good midfields, Gerrard, Lampard, Alonso, C Ronaldo, Vicente, Robben, but it will be hard to buy these players out of their teams.
Strikers :
Ferrando Torres, ST, At Madrid, u must be loaded like Chelsea to buy him.
Dider Drogba, ST, Chelsea, u got the chance to buy him if Chelsea successfully buy Torres. I bought him in Season 3, he scored 39 goals in Season 4.
Arturo Lupoli, ST, Arsenal, late bloomer, will be really good if given the chance to play regularly. Good to buy and loan out.
Lukas Podolski, ST, KC Koln, A really good and possible buy, becos Koln is not exactly a big team. But beware of the number of games he played, becos he is still young. Try not to play him as the lone striker. This bugger will not only give u goals, but assists as well.
Carlos Tevez, ST, Corinthians, A fast and pacy striker like Defoe. However, this guy got to play regularly to score regularly. So rotate carefully, let him play while he is scoring and take him out when he is not.
If you want English ST, these are the ones to look for,
Jer Defoe, ST, Tottemham. Solid strike rate. Will give u plenty of goals. Could be expensive
Chris Brown, ST, Sunderland. Good choice if u r a small team, play him regularly and his price will go up big time.
Luke Moore, ST, Aston Villa, A big striker, good header kind of striker. Actually compliments Chris Brown. However, dun expect loads of goals, but he will provide the assist to ST and midfielders.
Ruud, Ronaldo, Robinho, Adriano, Alberto Gilardino are all good. But hard to buy.
But a few teams which u can search for good and young players are :
Man U, Arsenal (Eng), Athl Madrid, Barca (Spain), Ajax and Fey (Holland), Sao Paulo, Corinthians (Brazil), Roma (Italy), Monaco, Marseille (France).
A lot of good players from the Spanish and Brazilian teams, but buy wisely.

It is official, the season 4 is over. I finally got my first League Championship after running the team for 4 years. Got a paycut early last season, but looks like I should be cool with the job now. Hmm.. let's look at my humble achievements
Season 1 : European Super Cup, World Club Championship
Semi-Finals in League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League
3rd in League Table with 77 points, +38 Goals
Season 2 : Trophy-less. League Cup 4th Rd, FA Cup QF, Champions League QF
3rd in League Table with 72 points, +28 Goals
(the worst season in my career)
Season 3 : Champions League Winners
Final in FA cup, League Cup QF
2nd in League Table with 85 points, +50 Goals
Season 4 : Premiership Champions, League Cup Winners, Super Cup Winners,
World Club Champions
FA Cup 3rd Rd exit by Mr Peh, CL QF
A satisfactory season I must say. My own game, I did not win the League until Season 5, Though I did win the CL twice. Time to think abt Defending my Title... haha...
Bros CS and HF, nice playing with you guys so far... Race to the next season title begins...

First of all, Happy Dog year to all the chinese reading my blog, Hope your doggy year is filled with more food, more money, more happiness...
Nothing much happening since last entry. Autosurfing-wise, AlienTrust is stilling solving problem on their server, but I am not worried, but then, the plan got to take a back seat for a couple of days. 12DP is still paying me at 6th/7th day. Though hf's last upgrade has not come, but it is still within the stipulated 7 business days for stormpay. I have not request any payout from rollercoaster, but will do so this coming fri... I registered for totalrune after reading the threads from MMG. Seems that it is filled with good comments so far. I am still waiting for 50cent to pay me my 1.2k USD. If count by 7 business day, tue will be the day. I am pulling the plug off this program but may use my spare cash here. We shall see... tendaily seems ok... but waiting for every 20th of the month for all your upgrade for the previous mth seems abit long. But then again, its reputation has been good. So I may just throw a couple of hundreds in here soon. HYIP side, p4i2 has yet to give me my initial investment. There are starting to be complaints. But luckily, I only put in a really small amt.
FM-wise, hf, becks and I are into our 4th season, End-feb now. Chelsea is losing steam after running away with the league title for 3 seasons, so Arsenal looks like the main team to beat for the title this season. Luckily for me, Henry (Arsenal) and Torres (Chelsea) are out for the rest of the season. So things are looking good with me at 1st, 28 matches gone, with a 3 point lead. I just won the league cup, after Becks and hf won it in the previous seasons. I also won the World club championship after the CL success last season, and the Super Cup. So 3 trophies this year already, hopefully more to come. My Drogba has just broke my own club record of goals scored in a season with 31, and mind u, I signed him on a free transfer. (dunno why Chelsea released him also) Podolski is slowly getting his scoring boots on after he came bac from a 4 mth injury. This kid is good !!! But my team is getting old, with some holes here and there. Just bought Steven Taylor from Newcastle for better and younger defence. Think I have to spend big during the summer to bring some young guns into the midfield and striking area. I am still superbly fat on the GK side, with 4 good keepers, although Scott Carson pissed me when he blew a first team start with a 5-rating (yes i relegated him to the reserves). Got to ring some young guns in for the old ones to teach them before these folks retire. HF is doing superbly well. Pressing for the title closely. His strikers and GK is doing well to keep him in games, especially Paul Robinson. He is still in UEFA, FA cups, and his team is much thinner than mine and Becks one, so it could take a toll on the players. But Tactics-wise, I think HF got an edge. But the players still play the biggest part. Becks was doing well at the start of the season, but seems to hv lose some steam. Currently 5th in the table, still in CL, FA cups. His squad is huge, as usual due to his buying and selling of Free Agents. I think he can be officially called the Bosman man. He just bought two good strikers, but his defence is leaking like a broken vase. His two new defenders are still not used to English game. But as I have learned, never write off Man U, especially late in the season when they will go for a stretch of matches without dropping a point. My guess is that his team wlll be pressing for the title next season.
Real-Life football... GOD is back in Anfield !!! Rafa re-signed a player who Gerard Houiller sells to make Michael Owen happy, Robbie Fowler. This guy is what the Anfield faithful names as GOD. He is a different type of player from Cisse, Nando and Crouch, or even Sinama, so another type of option, the fox in the box kind of lethality. Can't imagine Arsenal buying him. This will put some pressure on Cisse, especially with the World Cup coming, he got to work really hard to get his chance to play. His miss during the Man U-Pool match was atrocious !! So hopefully Fowler can showed Cisse how to do it, the English way.
DD and I did something really silly today. We are lying on bed, playing with Starry. Dun ask me what we do with it, it is silly and idiotic... This CNY will be a busy one for me, as I prepared Qi Li Xiang for DD. Nope, I am not going to say what is it here. So until it is over, then u will find out what is that here. Also going to meet my whole bunch of Sec Sch friends at one of the married girl's hse, how cool is that !!! I really thank god for these wonderful friends. It is really nice to have friends knowing since sch time to adulthood. We officially known one another in 1991. So it is already 15 years, my my... God bless !!

CNY is coming, but somehow I miss the atmosphere that surrounds CNY when I was young... somehow, CNY when u were a kid is so much more fun and relaxing... a break from school, loads of ang bao money... sweets and junk food... manz... My CNY is always not very interesting... due to the fact that my family usually assemble at my grand's hse on the first day of new yr, so after that, not much activities, usually the good ol' Mahjong for my parents, and just movies and computer games at home... I remember spending one CNY at home trying to complete my FF7. I was crazy abt that game then... trying very hard to complete it...
work hasnt been smooth sailing, esp with ridculous demands.... within a short period of time... So i just got to do my job and squeeze the living hell out of pple... hate to be a bad man in middle, but my job requires me to do it...
life in autosurf is still pretty ok... waiting for my payout from 50cent b4 i pulled the plug on this site... cannot make it... AT is commercing their host and server change... hopefully there is no hiccups on this... this program has been the excitement of my autosurf life... 12DP is still pretty much on schedule... everything coming in as per normal... my DD is going to join me in the autosurf business... how cool is that...

Tuesday, January 24, 2006 || A mth of bad throat
a bad sore throat for almost the entire mth has gotten the worst of me... leaving me tired... and moody most of the time... when CNY is jus abt 5-6 days away, it should be a time of celebrating, drinking and fun, but oh well... i wont say the mood is too good with this irritating throat of mine...
things at work is still pretty much the same... i finally gave my paper to my boss for vetting... frankly speaking, i hate writing papers... coz my english is so lousy, that i would be the first one to raise my hand if i said i jus wanna control... HF is pretty much frustrated at the fact that he is being given a shitty post when he is not expecting any bonus for the 2 years for different reasons... and i fully agreed with him, wat the heck is he given such a post when he should be controlling or doing something he is good at... i, for one, would say that he is the one with the best controlling skills in our co-hort... but then, he is given a post which has nothing to do with controlling... sometimes i guess it is time and opportunity... sometimes not that u r good at something, but becos there is no one else for the job... it takes good judgement of character and skill to be able to pin-point the correct person for the correct job... for this year, i tink the management do hv some bad judgements... of coz, in many times, favourtism will play a part... for me, i m just glad that i have a great boss in raymond, who at times, understand the difficulties of pple working on the ground. and i have some great colleagues in my dept in Alvin, Dino, Yongshun and of coz Choon Seng... anyway, enuff abt shitty stuff...
Hv u ever pick up the fone and send an sms to someone? those of u who enjoy my post abt "when does 'away' means away" will find this especially interesting as well... a fone can be used to do alot of things, the main thing is: communicate!!! yes... will u msg a person, "call me" when u can actually dial that person's number instead? I personally had a fren last time who will give me a miss call of 1 second, and if i dun call him, another one of those 1-second will come... reason : to make use of the free incoming call from starhub then (mind u, it was the only telco who provided that then)... so in this age when cell fone charges are going lower and lower, why would u msg someone "call me"? Especially if it is urgent? Is there another reason for doing that, if the free incoming is not the reason? I told my DD abt it, and she gave me a pretty interesting look and answer... what is your answer?

Monday, January 23, 2006 || Lousy-Pool Lose again
Yes... it is a monday and yst, my fav lousy-pool lose to Man U, again... well, although I expected it, but to lose to a last-minute injury time header is a great great disappointment. I realised that Man U has a thing in big matches, esp at home... like when they beat Arsenal last season to end their unbeaten run, becoming the first time this season to beat Chelsea, and now Liverpool. It is strange how this team can always rise to the occassion and go against the form book...
Oh well, enuff said... back to work in an hour's time or so for night duties... After spending 4 days on mc last week, it has really bring the sleeping worm out of me... I slept so much during those 4 days, well, of coz mostly due to the medication, but still... sleeping more than 1/2 your day away just isnt productive at all... Back to work today, and I am only 85% recovered. Still got a little bit of cough and sore throat here and there, but hopefully with some proper dieting, the sickness will be okay by CNY. That's all for this brief entry... I will be back with more...

Wednesday, January 18, 2006 || Fortunate to escape the tube in throat
After intense dieting and sleeping, lots of rest plus lots of water... I am on the recovery line... probably by end of tmr, I should be up and running... and yes, escape the tube in throat treatment...
Finally talked to nicholas on msn... the autosurf guru mellow intro... very nice guy... he is testing out this rollercoastersurf and invite me to go in... it is still pretty young... but i just got my small payout from my 12DP... so jus decide to sign up and try the payout... which is the same as alientrust ... so worth trying... however, this one, the referral is better... so we'll see how... after this current cycle, i already maxed my 12DP, so got to find alternate sites to put park the extra money... alientrust seems like a good site... but it is suddenly very popular... so maybe rollercoaster is a good one... depending on whether they pay...
My friends, in case u dunno what i m talking abt in the last para, it is abt autosurf... try it... sign under me, and i m will return the half referral fee to u... always... those friends who dunno.... come to me... i will be glad to explain...

Tuesday, January 17, 2006 || Have u ever hv a tube stick into your throat?
After having sore throat since xmas... i finally decided to go and see the doc... esp after it got really bad on sat... sadly when i finally decided that i should go and get proper medication, all the docs r closed on sun. When yst i see the doc, and got a 2-day mc... however, the medication doesnt seems to have a really good effect... so i went to the doc again and guess what she said,
"Eric, I think your situation is much worse than I thought, i think u r suffering from asthma bronchitis (or something like that)"
I asked, "What is it?"
"Basically your phelgm is causing blockage in your throat, that's y u r coughing non-stop to clear it. If u stop coughing, the blockage could get so bad that u cant breathe. (what the heck!!) So I am going to give u something really strong and hopefully the situation can be controlled. If the blockage doesnt go away and u keep coughing, come back to me and u might have to go to the hospital where they will stick a tube into your throat and clear the phelgm blockage manually"
I was like, "What?" oh man... sounds serious... And I definitely dun wan a tube into my throat, must be pretty painful... After a dosage of the medication, I am coughing less at this moment... though still coughing... hopefully it will go away... I really not prepared for the "tube in throat" treatment manz...
well, i got a pleasant surprise... my boss actually sms me to ask me to take care... seriously, how many boss will do that? haha... seriously, i thank god for having a boss like tat now... hopefully the good days will continue...

Thursday, January 12, 2006 || The last Dance
Those of u who knows NBA and Michael Jordan will remember that the Chicago Bulls won three straight NBA championships, 2 times, from 91-93 and 96-98. In 1998, at the pre-season training camp, the coach handed them a manual, and on it, was "The Last Dance", as they prepare themselves for the last burst towards their 6th NBA title.
Today, I am going to title my entry, the last dance, dedicated to my friend and good-ol coursemate, Ethan Tan (Yes, ethan, take a bow). U see, tmr will be his last day for he is leaving my unit to go to somewhere which he really wants, and probably will like. Not that being in my unit is no good, but I think in terms of work, and prospects, and I am really happy for him. Work at my side is okay, if u hv a good boss, and of coz, if no one STABs u... nevertheless, it is really sad to see someone in our little "gang" leaves... after all the breakfast and lunch sessions, all the happy hours, the cheonging sessions, KTV, badminton, bitching sessions in our rest area, it is hard to imagine how one person can just go away like that. But it is true... though hard to believe... well, we will have a good farewell party for him... and it will definitely have DANCE...
Today we all had a badminton session and a good dinner... sometimes it is really hard to get everyone together for such gatherings, TC sessions etc... but as ethan's departure is near, we decided to make it a point to meet up once a while, probably during one of those lobo days.

this entry, let me talk abt friends... over ur lifetime, u will probably come to know many many friends... let me go thru some type of friends...
Type 1 - soul mates, a friend whom u can talk to anytime, anywhere, anything... someone whom u can confide in...
Type 2 - close friend, someone whom u can confide in, but not exactly everything... usually u tend to spend alot of "buddy time" with this type of friend
Type 3 - Normal friend plus, a friend whom u noe probably from ur workplace or sch, or anywhere u goes really often... u can usually talk to this person, sometimes in long conversations, and will go out with this friend to places...
Type 3 - normal friend minus, Normal friend plus, a friend whom u noe probably from ur workplace or sch, or anywhere u goes really often... u can usually talk to this person, sometimes in long and short conversations, but strangely, u nvr go out together b4
Type 4 - Hi-Bye friend, someone whom u noe, but seldom talk... usually in coversations less than 20 sentences...
Type 5 - Friend super minus, someone whom u hi-bye, and dun wan to talk to....
well, that's abt it... but of coz, dun go and DEFINE ur friends hor... y? simple... things changed... friends changed also... sometimes, u can know a friend for more than 10 years without really engaging in a serious conversation together, but just one day, u realise that u two actually share a lot of views and opinions... and what happen? upgrade lah... haha... but sometimes, u tot this friend is okay, still can talk, then he suddenly shown himself as a backstabber.... then, Downgrade loh... both of this whom i just experienced in the previous month... but life is not life without friends, cherish ur friends, for they will be there when u r down, and out... and u can always lend a shoulder or a lift when needed....

Today, I finally hv the chance to visit (or try actually) one of the those really nice gyms with classes type... something similar to california fitness... Anyway, this place is called Fitness First, located in the middle of CBD abt 1 min walk from Boat Quay...when I went there, i saw the pool just outside the entrance... and i tot, "WOW"... the pool is facing the city skyline... basically, looking from boat quay direction towards Ritz Carlton... And I went in and was greeted with some of the better facilities i have seen for a gym (though i din really see a lot)... i attended 3 classes altogether, body combat (which i did for 15 min), pool fitness (which is super tiring), and body jam (one of the better ones due to my experiences from dance)...of coz, after trying, the guys will be trying to convince u to sign up... well, the monthly fee is a whopping S$138/mth... then my mind goes, WOW WOW WOW.... frankly speaking, if i m a rich bugger which lots of time, yes i will sign up... but the sad truth is I AM NOT !!! frankly speaking, if u ever sign up for such things, u shld go for as many classes as possible... coz gym facilities is everywhere... but good classes, nono.... the body jam class is pretty nice.... quite an experience... oh well, too bad i m not a rich guy....

Tuesday, January 03, 2006 || A zombie of a day
A day after being a swordbearer for jeremy, I went home to watch a soccer match with the referee totally spoiling the match. Fouls are not given, multiple diving act are given as fouls... I am totally irritated... esp when these divings are done when there isnt even any contact.... KNS... seriously, I think the EPL should change the batch of referees or give them extra lessons on what is a foul. With the style of England being more physical, refs being more lenient on physical challenges, the league will never improve. The english rep teams will always be second class in the Champions League and UEFA cup compared to Spanish and Italian teams, perhaps even Dutch teams.
Perhaps I was totally irritated that I couldnt sleep until 3am (the match ends at 1). how come i dunno... i usually dun hv problems falling asleep... talk abt being a pig... haha... perhaps i was troubled as well, troubled abt what? i also dunno... life is so tough, it is hard to avoid having any problems here and there... I guess that's when friends are important... It is hard to find friends who understand u, and share your point of view... when u found such friends, be sure to cherish them... sometimes u may hv friends whom u noe for ages, but only noe u two share something in common when u take an effort to know them.... i guess, that's fate... Anyway, no matter how troubled u r, life goes on... problems will hv to be solved... life has to go on... so why not cheer up, n live life as it comes...
well, and coz of my lack of sleep, i m totally, "zombie-fied" today... feel like a walking zombie... oh manz... i m going to catch up on some sleep...
