Thursday, May 31, 2007 || How people treat u is a reflection of how you treat people....

Today, saw a fren had this on his MSN nick... and it gave me some thoughts... Well, firstly, is it true or not? I am not sure... I was terribly sick of life when IT happen last yr Feb... and perhaps it was karma, or whatever that happens many many yrs ago... Sometimes, I tink human tends to ask for ridiculous demands... Like a couple of weeks ago, I was supposed to go to Marriot Vacation Club to attend their time-sharing program... Though I have no intention of signing up, and was merely there for the $100 taka voucher, I make it a point to go... On the other hand, after this appointment was made, a demand came for me to go somewhere... by someone close... Part of the reason is coz I drive and can fetch more pple to go together... But since I had the appt already, I rejected the demand... which I tink is within my rights and choices... But guess what happen, the person turned a little nasty after knowing my decision not to go...

My question is : Am I supposed to forgo something for someone else's convenience?

Long ago, I already came to realise that in this world, it is really true, you cannot make everyone happy... But what I realise over the past few mths, it is worse than that, you could even make someone unhappy... Sometimes your decision NOT to do something someone demanded becomes abit of a sore to others... and in turn, unhappy...

Is this how the world is? I was brought up in a culture to tink that everything want is to be earned by my own hardwork... Everything else is bonus... and I intend to teach that to my kids... Life is never fair... and that is precisely why we should inculcate this into the future generations, so that they learned the harsh reality early, and start preparing themselves than relying on their parents...

Sunday, May 27, 2007 || A period of suayness, a little luck back?

After a period of suayness, I was really scared to go for overnight duties at my office. Coz seems like I will kena something, even for a peaceful Sunday.... My last duty was the first one I hvnt kena any shit...

And guess what, I was outside the famous Guan Yin temple at Waterloo St today, and saw a handicap person, selling Big Sweep Tickets... and these two idiots were choosing "nice-numbered" tickets, taking their own sweet time... Frankly, I am not sure how much their "slowness" will deter pple from buying from this poor man, but I tink they definitely block out the sight of him... well, if u dun see him selling, even if u wanna buy, u also wont notice him either.... Anyway, somehow last mth, I have decided to stop buying Big Sweep tickets, coz for many many many mths, my tickets nvr got beyond the third number... I guess i m not a very lucky man to start with... But seeing those two buggers, taking a hell lot of time just to choose a ticket, I just decided to go to him and buy a couple of tickets from him... I jus ask him to pick, he jus drag the two nearest one to him and pass to me, I took it, gave him the money, n left... tat's it, less tham 10 sec... unless the two buggers.... wth !! Then, earlier tonight, I striked starters for 4D today... I was thinking, it could be coz of my future wife Gracie... or perhaps my buyin of the tickets from the poor man.... Oh well... Tink I am buy some pisangs for my colleagues tmr... and something else for my dear dear.... hmm...

Anyway, I got news on Fri that I got promoted at work... well, I am more relieved than happy actually, coz I was due for it last yr but din get it... So actually, I am already late compared to some of my peers... But a yr of hardwork under my previous boss has brought abt this promotion... He is a good mentor and I am grateful to have work under him for a good period of time... Is it a beginning of more good things? heopfully....

You'll Never Walk Alone

Watching the final on Wed night gives me heeartache. It is never easy to see your team lose in a final. Under Rafa, I have experienced twice, once against Chelsea in the League Cup in his first year, and this CL final. Two other final triumphs though, two 3-3 scoreline which went into Extra Time and penalties.

Indeed, it is sad. But I took heart to this year's performance. When Rafa took over, he took a yr or so to cleared up Houiller's mess... The class of 2007 Liverpool team took the game to Milan unlike 2 yrs ago, and this yr, they were neither "lucky" nor "fortunate" to reach the final. They went to there with courage and quality which the class of 05 did not have. In this final, they were deserving of something more than a loss, but that is football and its cruelty.

Having supported Liverpool since I was a boy, in 87-88 season, when John Barnes, Ian Rush and Peter Beardsley were scoring goals for fun. The mistake that Liverpool did then was continunity, which Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger had started since they took over. It took Fergie many yrs before he won his first League Championship, and I reckon that it will be as difficult for Rafa. Now, my opinion is that Liverpool needs a good striker, someone who can pulls the cat out of the hat suddenly and out of nothing. This will takes the pressure of Stevie G and allow him to further develop into something special. In basketball, they termed this person as "the go-to guy". Someone like Michael Jordan, who can pluck holes in the team, whether in passes, strike or defence,

With the Amercians in charge, hopefully, they can give Rafa the lift, and the money to do what he needs, to start an era like what Fergie and Wenger builds in Man U and Arsenal. God bless Liverpool !!!!

Today, I just read that Singapore's life expectancy is the top 5 in the world... goodness...though this never came across my mind... Anyway, we are actually 4th, behind Andorra, Martinique (not sure if this country hv anything to do with the martini alcohol), and Macau, at 79.13. Wow.... looks like the variety of food in SG allows us to have a wider choice, and perhaps lives longer...

I am not sure if our medical care has anything to do with it, but I must say the docs in SG are doing good job... Just look at the SARS period, other countries are struggling with patients, while we are talking abt prevention and curing at the same time... the recent exercise against dengue was even more swift... The bugger on the news can even quote lots of stats to say that we are on a upward trend of dengue happenings... and if we dun stop them now, it could be worse... well, though most of these words are based on stats, but come on, lots of us buy stocks and shares based on that too... So if u can trust your hard-earned money with stats, trust the risk of dengue and do your part, stop the possible mosquito breeding places !!!!

Okay, back to the life expectancy, if u wan to live ur life to the fullest, better plan it till u r 80 or 85.... stock enuff money for your spending, make sure u hv a flat to live it, make sure u hv enuff medisave to save your fr the ridiculous medical bills, and stock up on the little blue pills if u wan to continue anything physical, hahahaha....

Monday, May 21, 2007 || Killing unhappiness

These few mths have passed like a blink of an eye... goodness... mayb coz I am with Gracie...

Today, let me talked abt the common phrase... Quarrel at the bed's end, and make up at the other.... I think most pple are familiar with this phrase... Well, tat's usually easier said than done... But I tink it is important for a couple to be able to do that, in order to last a lifetime... U see, there is a thousand and one things that can go wrong, and a thousand and one things to quarrel abt.... Sometimes when women gets her PMS, she jus kicks a fuss out of anything.... sometimes when men had a bad day at work, he takes it out on the family... So it is important that the couple understands what the other goes thru and subsequently, understand his/her needs... This will ensure a long and successful happy marriage....

Hi guys, glad to be back in blogging. Goodness, have been busy with lots of things, work especially... These few months have given me new insights, abt work, relationships....

My long struggle with the previous relationship has ended... the lawsuit is over... On the other hand, my search for another someone has ended... It has been a realyl happy 4 mths for me... the two of us are still pretty much in our honeymoon period...

I must say I am blessed becos I have known Gracie for 7 yrs and counting... She knew abt my problem since the start... It is also with some coincidence that both of us are single when we got together... I must say, it is not easy for any girl to accept that I actually ROM-ed before... The experience has been nice... and I am 110% sure Gracie will make a good wife...

Anyway, I realise the expense for marriage is pretty huge... den again, "pretty huge" is quite an understatement actually... Time to save up !!!! haha...
