Sunday, March 16, 2008 || Life is fair? NEVER!!

I had some emotions on the topic a couple of days ago... I was at a hawker centre eating... After a while, while waiting for my food, this auntie, looked at late 30s came and asked abt my coke can, which is still pretty full... Then came this old lady, probably past 60 going to 70 or even older, trying to sell two gentlemen sitting at my table, 2 packets of tissue... "50 cents?", as she placed the 2 packets on the table... the guy sitting nearer to her, just told her, "dun wan"... she turned nasty and said, "u mean u dun hv 50 cents to help an old lady like me? my life is tough !!!"... the two men continue with their curry rice and ignored her... she had no choice but to walk away...

After a while, the two gentlemen finished with their food and left. So, me and gracie was alone at the table. Then came a chinaman, trying to sell tissue also. He took out his tissue, stretched out his hand, and waved the tissue at us... We are not short of tissue, so I said, "dun wan"... But he continue doing his tissue-waving... and it become pretty irritating... Worse of all, while he is waving, he looked at the sky and not at me... as if I owe him money and better returned him... I stared at him, and he turned to see if I had changed my mind, I think he was a little stunned by the fact that I am looking at him with a "FO" look...

I dunno why, but the thought of the unfairness in life came to me... Life is hard enuff for our sme Singaporeans who earned little, trying to survive... But came along these foreign workers, who are trying to snatch business from them... Worst !! this bloody guy from China is not even disabled or something, he is a fully fit and able young man... Go find a job for God sake !!!

It never changes my feeling, no matter how many times I watched this movie... Today, I watched it again on HBO, I cant help but feel touched... It is based on a true story abt a American football coach, setting up a team in a juvenile jail. His aim to use sportsmanship, discipline of the game, and team spirit to reduce the fact that 75% of them actually returned to adult jail after they were released.

Recently, one of my colleagues was stirred for some stupid thing, and I felt disgusted by the ball carrying act, and decide to send out a nasty mail. Sometimes, I just dun understand why all these Jo-bro-ni can just stab their frens to gain a little favour from their bosses. I mean, seriously, does this little stabbing get you that far ahead of everyone? I doubt so... and frankly, disgusted is probably too weak a word to use. If I live in the ancient, uncivilised society, I would probably spit my phlegm on that person. KNS ah...
