:come into Dr Love's little world:
The thought came to my mind, "What exactly does a marriage comprise of?" and where exactly is the turning pt? Turning pt as in, when can you say, "I have decided not to get married"... Is that possible? Coz in the show, the leads were trying to cancel the wedding the day before the wedding... I understand that there are people who get cold feet and stuff... But what if you realise that there is something so difficult to accept in your future partner the day before the wedding? Do you back out? Or jus carry on... One of the main reason why I think there are so many divorces in the world, is the serious lack of proper choices.... They din choose properly when they got together, they din choose properly how they wan to live their life... and when one party comes interfering in another's life, all hell's break loose... The other aspect is communication. Due to the stupid nature of society now, couples no longer communicate like our parents' time... I used to hear my parents chatting late into the night abt what to do with my english becos it is so poor, and whether or not, they should hire a tuition teacher for me.... This among other things they talked abt... But basically, they talked... With the fast-paced life, this usually do not happen.... we often forgot the basic things in life, which resulted in terrible disasters happening...
The next day was spending on going around San Fran, including the famous flower street, and of coz the Golden Gate Bridge... We also visited another popular tourist attraction which is Pier 39.... we spent our lunch there, and fortunately, the EURO08 final was on tv in one of the restaurants.... How cool... I missed almost the entire EURO08 due to preparation of wedding, renov, moving, honeymoon in US, at least, I din miss Torres's goal that win the EURO.... By the time we finished it was abt 3+... and we took a bus ride to the next hotel. Luckily for our bus, we get to stay in a 5-star casino hotel. The hotel is new and nice... the funny thing is, we were entitled to get a international buffet at US$10. And will get a card with slots machine with $10 inside as credit. In the end, I won $11 with that card...
Next day, is to Yosemite National Park. The views aint as nice as Grand Canyon, but the weather is definitely not as hot... so it was more cooling than anything else... The hoover dam stop was brief... Though I recognise some of the areas used to shoot the Transformer Movie...
Arriving at LV at abt 530pm. Gracie and I took the 1.5 hrs break to go and shop ard the old Vegas area, the one that Li Nan Xing shot in one of the TCS gambling movies. Dinner was followed by a night tour, extra from the tour guide (which means paying), to some of the nicer night places, including the Venetian and the musical fountain. I took a shot at one of the slots machine playing for abt 30min, with 10 bucks. and end up, I made 1 buck... wth... waste of time...
Finally the wedding is over, and I have some time to rest. These 3 mths have been hectic to say the least.
But somehow, my life is becoming like that... work, going home, meeting up with friends... It hasnt been easy to change job. Life was about gossiping, lunching, bitching, most of all, friends and more friends... my new job scope hasnt allow me to do that... less chatting... pple r doing their own work most of the time... and my performance bonus for this yr is sure lousy, i really dun hv motivation to work... now the motivation is abt the money i m getting on every 10th... thats all... and preparing for the future. If I have sufficient savings to leave the force now, and not worried for 6 mths, I WILL !!! fact of matter is, the wedding and hse have drained a huge portion of my money, leaving me little for emergency, least to say, job changing... and when the promotion comes, it was just too tempting... funny, that i even went to Bugis Guan Yin temple to get a divine lot. The key sentence was, The time is not ripe to achieve your ambitions. Indeed, I do have an ambition in mind, and working towards it.
Life in USA has been fun. I din noe it was a peak season with many asians, and locals traveling at the same time. And while I chose LA as my destination, so did a lot of people. The first day was fine. Reaching LAX at 1130am certainly helped the situation. By the time I got to my hotel, it was 230pm. Of coz, there is some jet lag to consider. I was glad I took the flights which has a transit stop at Tokyo. God bless... At least, I got some time to stretch my legs and body. The second day was to San Diego Sea World. We got a little hiccup with lunch. As per all theme parks, they want to squeeze every penny out of you. So I brought lunch from the San Diego bay, so Gracie and I have to finish the food outside before going in. The park was fun... the Shamu and dolphin show were fantastic. We also got to see the other exhibits by the end of the day.
